Give your home a modern look!

If you’re the one who likes to do exactly what your mind says, reflect your modernity in the most unexpected way!

Hued in style: The usual is boring! Play up colours; go Zen and do up your home in black and white trimmed with gold or silver for a festive look or be bold and try olive green, browns or even red!

Print play: Want to change the look of your room in a jiffy? Pick stickers in motifs of your choice – star, kiddie cartoons, abstract art, nature etc or plaster one wall with a wallpaper to highlight it. You could even try adorning your cupboard with a painted design. Mosaics too are in and small designs in bathrooms are common, go modern with mosaic in the corner of your ceiling or even a sandwich glass ceiling lamp!

Balcony view: A scenic weekend at home? Yes it’s possible! Trim your balcony with small potted flower plants to form a colour arrangement and set a table for your family replete with armchairs, a book rack and music system. You can enhance the evening with dim lamps and soothing scents!

Vintage touch: A Maharaja chair, a Mohenjo-Daro sculpture, an ancient Persian carpet – make history a part of your timeless décor! Bring home objects from your various sojourns or scour the city for pieces that suit your layout. Go Grecian, Roman, Indian and go global!

Flowing drapes: Add a romantic touch with soft drapes – creatively! Select an ethnic print thin bedsheet and use it as a door curtain or play with an animal print sari or chiffon dupatta to adorn your window! Gold net is in for the season and you could also add ornate curtain holders.

Furniture for your mood: Get the right type of furniture that will cater to your needs. Remember that you should feel comfortable with the furniture you choose for every room in your house. GO with colors that suit your aura or with the rustic look that emphasizes on the lines of ‘Old is Gold’.

Light it up: Bring out the right colors of your home with the correct types of lights places in your house. Add a beautiful wooden long lamp in that corner which is left open. Add colorful little lights in your balcony and make it your cozy spot while you enjoy light conversations or dreamy times.
